The plate is four layers of 6 oz. glass. This made a plate about .100 thick - too thin to give the front plate the required rigidity. I could add another six layers of glass and create a heavy - but stiffer plate. I decide to form a rib instead using foam. I also position the brake ducts on the plate - I can install those now and save a lot of messing about under the car.
